Another week in Calgary and we're home again. The flight home was not ideal, Callum freaked out while we were still on the ground and you're not suppose to feed him but it took us FOREVER to get off the ground. Since the stewardesses were all buckled in and couldn't see me, I finally just gave him his bottle to spare us all the endless crying. Why we can't feed them on take-off and landing is a complete mystery to me because honestly, if we crash? I am not going to be able to keep a hold on the little dude. That's a risk I'm willing to take when I get on a plane.
The weather in Calgary was confused, but the weather here is absolutely gorgeous! If Callum wasn't sick I'd go frolic (Hi Fearthainn!) in the sun. I might go frolic (Hi Fearthainn!) anyway, poor kid has a runny nose but I suspect he'll survive a stroll around the block.
In other incredibly exciting news, I have piles and piles of kids clothes piled up in my living room as I attempt to go through it all and figure out what to store, what to donate and what will fit my very plump little man right now. You're jealous right now aren't you? I thought so.
Speaking of the plump little dude, here he is! hee!

In lieu of any real content, I give you the interview questions I gave my Mom. Since she doesn't have a blog, I figured I'd post them here!
1. What was your most favorite vacation?
I think the best vacation was to Virginnia. It was my favorite because it was so rich in history, from the founding of the First Colony in the Southern US, to The Revolutionary War, at Yorkton, and the Civil War, that was brought alive by sites in Richmond.
Williamsburg, was probably the best part of the trip, as we felt like we were really in that time. Washington was great too. Seeing the White house, and walking through so many of the museums. I wish we could have seen more. We did see George Washington's Home though and that was really amazing.
We had a lot of fun reading the Ghost book and trying to figure out if the ghost was really in the place that we had read about!
Added to that, was the fun of meeting my pen pal of 15 years.
Yup, definitely the best one!!
2. When you were a teenager how did you imagine your life would be now?
When I was a teenager, I was sure I would be dead by now. I did not imagine life in middle age.
3. Have Fearthainn and I turned into the type of woman you tried to raise us to be?
Yes and No, I think you have both turned out to be better and stronger than I could of imagined. I am very proud of both of you. Everything that you accomplish in your lives is due to your own hard work and effort, so you guys should be proud of yourselves.
4. What is your favorite Christmas present you've ever received?
I think the favorite was the Teenager Doll, that I got after Rick was born. I remember going to the grocery store every week with Mom and Dad and gazing up at this doll. She was on a high shelf, and looked beautiful. Untouchable, in more ways than one! I wanted that doll so much. I thought I could be just like her. All grown up and sophisticated! She was wearing a White Satin Ball gown, with lace and silver embroidery and Blue velvet Ribbons. Enchanting.
Then on Christmas morning, there she was! It was incredible. My Mom had made her a whole wardrobe, packed in a little brown suitcase.
I was truly amazed!!!
5. What is your favorite memory from your entire life?
Two favorite memories! Looking down into your little faces for the first time. It was a miracle to look at your Dad's face, on this little tiny baby. What a strange feeling! I wondered how you could look so much like a man! Poor little babies.
Then your sister came along and she looked like my brother. Really! Even had his finger nails. Truly Amazing, to see how genetics work!
Now your sister laughs and giggles like your dad! Very strange..........
Spring has finally arrived, albeit pretty darn late for this part of the world. It has been gorgeous the last week or so, although it is getting pretty cold at night STILL (cold enough I have to close the door on the greenhouse or my pretty tomatos will freeze their pretty little leaves off!).
The daffedils have faded and the leaves are out in full force. Our cherry trees bloomed and are now in the process of making us some cherries while our pear tree is in full bloom. The other pear tree? I'd say its on its last leaf and will unlikely make it through the season. I have to also say that one of my Japanese Maples in my huge blue pots is also dying a slow death and I have no idea why. It just decided to up and die, I guess.
The asparagus is up, and being devoured by the dog the moment he sees that its big enough to snap off. We took down our garden fence that kept the dog out of the vegetable garden so we could re-work that part of the yard. This has been to his complete delight!
Last night I had to attempt to fix a hole in the fence around our flower (the term "flower" is being used very loosely here) because the rabbits were in there eating everything in sight. Greedy little buggers.
The hummingbirds are mating, which is quite the sight to see. The male hummingbird will do this crazy show of flying straight up into the air and then come barreling back down to earth. They've been at our feeder pretty steady since we filled it for them.
And the eagles are in love. They fly around in pairs and just swoon over each other. They're EVERYWHERE so just look up, you'll see an eagle.
All of this is why we live here. Now I just have to figure out a way to talk the rest of you into moving here.
"I could moonlight as a stripper to bring in some extra money."
"I'm ok with that."
"I'm not sure any of the other girls would be."
"huh. 'spose that's something to consider, then."
